I would say this song is romantic and would be my Song of the Year.

More than This
by Roxy Music

I could feel at the time
There was no way of knowing
Fallen leaves in the night
Who can say where they’re blowing
As free as the wind
Hopefully learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning

More than this you know there’s nothing
More than this tell me one thing
More than this ooh there is nothing

And then I heard you
You made me long for
To be a part of
Something that I can’t see
A life that is beyond
Something that I can’t fear
To be a part of
The story – it belongs to you

Tristan: He told me that my true love…

[Yvaine begins to glow]

Tristan: …was right in front of my eyes. And he was right.

[they kiss]

This makes me want to see the film and read the book again.

Go sing, too loud
Make your voice break- Sing it out
Go scream, do shout
Make an earthquake…

You wish fire would die and turn colder
You wish your love could see you grow older
We should always know that we can do anything

Go drum, do proud
Make your hands ache – Play it out
Go march through crowd
Make your day break…

You wish silence released massive tremors
You wish, I know it, surrender to summers
We should always know that we can do everything

Go do, you’ll learn to
Just let yourself, fall into landslide

Go do, you’ll learn to
Just let yourself, give into low tide

Go do!

Tie strings to clouds
Make your own lake – Let it flow
Throw seeds to sprout
Make your own break – Let them grow

Let them grow (Endless summers)
Let them grow (Endless summers)

(Go do endless summers)

You wish surprise, will never stop wonders
You wish sunrise, will never fall under

You wish surprise, will never stop wonders
You wish sunrise, will never fall under
We should always know that we can do everything

(I haven’t blogged anything since late 2011, and now in the middle of 2013, I feel joy bubbly up inside me, for what Life has given me so far. This song is always invigorating, as if sunshine feels my Heart. I hope it would give you the same feeling too.)

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving

Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted

But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they turn your hope apart
As they turn your dreams to shame

He slept a summer by my side
He filled my dreams with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came

And still I dream he’d come to me
That we would live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather

I had a dream my life would be
So different from the hell I’m living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed

Sun rays come down as seen when they hit the ground,
Children spinning around till they fall down down down.
I wait for you: it’s been two hours now,
You’re still somewhere in town,
Your dinners getting cold.
I rest my case you are always this late,
And you know how much I hate waiting around ’round ’round,
Bitter heart, bitter heart tries to keep it all inside,
Bitter heart, bitter heart shadows will help you try to hide,
Bitter heart, my bitter heart is gettin’ just a little fragile,
Bitter heart, bitter heart of mine.
And then you come and tell me the same reason as you did yesterday,
So tell me whats her name.
Doo doo da dum, doo doo da dum, doo doo doo doo doo doo da da dum dum, da da da da dum, da da da da dum, da da da da dum.
Bitter heart, bitter heart tries to keep it all inside
Bitter heart, bitter heart shadows will help you try to hide,
Bitter heart, my bitter heart is just getting a little fragile,
Bitter heart, bitter heart of mine, of mine, of mine, of mine, of mine, of mine.

So I say
Thank you for the music
The songs I’m singing
Thanks for all the joy they’re bringing
Who can live without it?
I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance, what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

rushing and racing and running in circles
moving so fast I’m forgetting my purpose
blur of the traffic is sending me spinning
getting nowhere

my head and my heart are colliding chaotic
pace of the world I just wish I could stop it
Try to appear like I’ve got it together
I’m falling apart

save me
somebody take my hand and lead me
slow me down
don’t let love pass me by
just show me how
cause I’m ready to fall

slow me down
don’t let me live a lie
before my life flies by
I need you to slow me down

sometimes I fear that I might disappear
in the blur of fast forward I falter again
forgetting to breathe
I need to sleep
I’m getting nowhere

all that I’ve missed I see in the reflection
pass me while I wasn’t paying attention
tired of rushing, racing and running
I’m falling apart

tell me
oh won’t you take my hand and lead me
slow me down
don’t let love pass me by
just show me how
cause I’m ready to fall

slow me down
don’t let me live a lie
before my life flies by
i need you to slow me down

just show me
i need you to slow me down
slow me down
slow me down

the noise of the world is getting me caught up
chasing the clock and i wish i could stop it
just need to breathe
somebody please
slow me down

This is a song by Emmy Rossum. Yes, Emmy Rossum the actor. She sings and makes album now. This ‘other’ talent could be seen in The Phantom of the Opera (film), a musical drama by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Anyway, I like this song. It reminds me of Imogen Heap‘s songs and the lyric reminds me of the need to slow down (a little bit, hehe). See her music clip here.
